Kuala Lumpur, October 3, 2023 – Imax Refrigerator Malaysia (Power Cool Equipments (M) Sdn Bhd), in collaboration with Jabatan Alam Sekitar, was recognized and celebrated during the National Level World Ozone Day 2023 Celebration. The event, held in Kuala Lumpur, marked a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to safeguard our environment and combat climate change.
Imax Refrigerator Malaysia will fully convert the foam raw materials in commercial refrigerators to more environmentally friendly materials in 2023.
During the event, the Ministry of Environment issued a certificate of appreciation to Power Cool Equipments (M) Sdn Bhd for successfully implementing the technical transformation project of the HPMP II Stage.
The celebration was presided over by His Excellency Dato’ Mohamad Razif bin Haji Abd Mubin, Deputy Secretary General (Energy, Environment and Climate Change), Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment, and Climate Change. This prestigious event brought together approximately 280 participants from the industrial sector, government agencies, consultants, and educational institutions.
The theme of this year’s World Ozone Day was “Montreal Protocol: fixing the ozone layer and reducing climate change,” highlighting the pivotal role played by the Montreal Protocol in not only protecting the ozone layer but also addressing climate change issues.
During the ceremony, a remarkable book titled “Healing The Ozone Layer – Our Story – Malaysia” was unveiled by YBhg. Dato’ TKSU. This book chronicles Malaysia’s remarkable success in implementing the Montreal Protocol, showcasing the nation’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
